Advanced XML in the Enterprise
Course Description:
Advanced XML in the Enterprise introduces students to the multi-tier architecture and its advantages over client-server architecture. Students will learn about the XML technologies that interact in a multi-tier system to enable XML as a cornerstone technology for the exchange of business data.
Learning Objectives:
After completing this course, students will be able to:
- Describe the role of XML in the enterprise computing
- Create an XML Schema to produce a valid XML document
- Recover content from an XML document using the DOM and SAX models
- Recover content from a specific part of an SML document with XPathy
- Retrieve the value of an element in an XML document with SML Query
Prerequisites:
- XML Fundamentals or equivalent knowledge and experience.
Required Software:
- A text editor such as Wordpad or Simple Text; Netscape Communicator 4.x or higher or Internet Explorer 4.x or higher; A compression utility such as WinZip to unpack the course download.
