Apache and Secure Web Server
Course Description:
This course is designed to teach systems administrators who want to configure and maintain a secure Apache Web Server, and a web server administrator who can configure and maintain an Apache web server running under Linux, incorporating CGI handlers, SSL security, dynamic content, and customization via modules.
Learning Objectives:
After completing this course, students will be able to:
- Understand web server basic configuration
- Understand virtual hosts: IP-based, name-based
- Use cookies to keep track of users between sessions
- Configure directives and syntax checking
- Understand CGI: Definition, mechanics, limitations, common CGI languages
- Customize Apache modules: mod_perl, mod_php, mod_rewrite, mod_status, mod_usertrack, etc.

- Basic Linux/UNIX experience
