Introduction to Perl 5
Course Description:
This course is designed to teach beginning programmers how to take advantage of PERL's excellent system-administration capabilities. Students will gain a solid background in the language, learning how to use all of its major features and functions, including variables, operators, functions, and flow control.
Learning Objectives:
After completing this course, students will be able to:
- Write effective PERL programs for common system-administration tasks
- Take advantage of regular expressions--even in other languages
- Understand, use, and modify PERL programs written by other people
- Create quick, one-liner programs for simple everyday tasks

- Basic programming experience
- Experience running simple programs
